Maturity

Following a period of growth the financial lifecycle begins to mature. At this stage both income and capital start to increase and the opportunity to begin true financial independence starts.

A business may reach a relative plateau in terms of sales, profit and growth or be at risk to the loss of key customers, employees and changes in the competitive environment; which could impact on its ongoing success. In this case more complex financial structures may need to be put in place and these require professional expert help.

We also find that business owners at this stage have at least one eye on how they will ultimately exit their business and want plans in place to ensure this happens successfully.

At this stage we look to formulate a holistic strategy for increasing, protecting and preserving wealth by mitigating tax alongside a distinctive approach to investment. It is at this stage that the foundations of an exit plan* for retirement are set in motion.

The value of an investment with St. James's Place will be directly linked to the performance of the funds you select and the value can therefore go down as well as up. You may get back less than you invested.

The levels and bases of taxation and reliefs from taxation can change at any time. The value of any tax relief depends on individual circumstances.
